Due to the current restrictions we are unable to hold our usual meetings – please see the Programme page for details of on-line planned events and activities. Details of virtual meetings held January – June 2021, along with related links and signposting, can be found on the Programme Archive page.
Spin, Weave & Chat meetings are informal and visitors are welcome. Members bring spinning wheels, inkle looms, knitting or other related craft activities, to do their own thing. We share ideas, help beginners and enjoy each others’ company. The meetings start (and often continue) with a bit of chit-chat. We then spend the evening spinning, weaving or carrying on with our latest projects.
Speaker meetings start with the talk and we have our tea/coffee whilst asking the speaker any further questions, or looking at their displays.
Since January 2021, the Guild has welcomed speakers via Zoom- this is an exciting development and one which has enabled Guild members to continue to access talks and training whilst being subject to ongoing COVID restrictions. As with face to face meetings, there is an opportunity for questions following the talk.
Workshops are an opportunity to either have a go at a new technique or skill, or improve and expand the skills we already have. We have these a few times a year from 10am until 4pm on a Saturday. It’s very interesting to see what different members can produce from essentially the same starting materials!
